Job Description

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) – BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The role involves supporting plasma center operations, determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Key responsibilities:

Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serologic protein electrophoresis (SPE).

Manage donor reaction events and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including coordinating with the Center Physician and emergency care facilities.

Notify donors of unsuitable test results and provide guidance on safety and eligibility.

Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.

Manage employee incidents, determine further evaluation needs, and follow EHS guidance.

Participate as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats.

Provide center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) matters.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.

Current license or certification in the state of assignment: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).

Current CPR and AED certification.

Statelicensure for basic IV therapy.

Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
