We areseeking an Ag Marketing Underwriter that will be responsible for driving the acquisition of profitable new business through field underwriting work, and collaboration with Farm Bureau Agents working with both prospective and current client-members throughout Central Utah.

As an Ag Marketing Underwriter, you will look at Agricultural risks alongside an agent before the policy is bound. You will be responsible for exercising underwriting judgments to determine rate and risk selection for Agricultural lines of business. This includes making modifications, rejections, cancellations, and non-renewal decisions in accordance with our policy. You will also monitor the current book of business to reduce the company’s losses and conduct reinspections of existing accounts. In this position, it is important to have marketing, agriculture and insurance experience so you can build rapport with our client/members. As an Ag Marketing Underwriter, you will be working from home and have control over your territory to grow Ag business. College degreeor equivalent insurance experience required.

An agribusiness degree is preferred or equivalent experience working in the operation of large farms/ranches Must have a strong understanding of farm business operations and the pain points of the customers we service.

Strong customer service skills are required, including solid verbal communication and business professional writing skills.

Must have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the agency force in addition to maintaining a positive, customer focused attitude at all times.

Strong computer skills are required to quickly learn our multiple systems.

Must stay up-to-date regarding local, state and federal rules and regulations to ensure government compliance and meet companyguidelines.

Must be able to meet deadlines, work under pressure and shift priorities to achieve corporate and business unit goals.

Must have valid driver’s license and the ability to travel. Typically, travel is during the workday (50%+) for field appointments within your assigned territory but may also include limited overnight travel. A company vehicle is provided.
