Certified Nurses Aide (CNA)

The Certified Nurses Aide (CNA), working under the direct supervision of Registered Nurse, is primarily responsible for providing direct, non-invasive bedside care to patients. Prioritizes and delivers basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc. Performs and documents vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc. Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing personnel.
Assists in preparing unit, patient rooms, and patient beds for receiving patient admissions. Removes supplies and equipment not in use; placing furnishings and equipment out of the path in order to provide a safe, neat, and organized area.
Appropriately designates applicable charges to individual patients using hospital's established system.
May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.
Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
~2 years of experience in inpatient hospital setting required, inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.

Current state CNA certification required.
Knowledge of current clinical operations and procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate Infection Prevention and proper body mechanics.
Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards.
Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:

Visual acuity required for patient assessment and documentation of care.
Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.
