Day Porter:
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
The Day Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean facility by completing a variety of cleaning tasks. The Day Porter also notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operations. This position establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers. This custodial position must comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Sometimes using ladders, dust and washes furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions
Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including the application of spot cleaning treatment
Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas
Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
Periodically cleans overhead vents, dust blinds, and polishes wood furniture
Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
Must keep janitor's closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order
Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
Possession of a valid driver's license for work-related travel, as required
Customer Service Experience
