Advanced Licensed Practical Nurse, Ambulatory Care

Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)We are seeking a qualified Illinois-based Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our team at Siteman Cancer Center. The APP will join our current APP group assisting with inpatient oncology consult services at Memorial East, Memorial Belleville, and Alton Memorial. This role will also join rotations to cover outpatient clinics in Shiloh and Alton, IL. Oncology experience is highly preferred, and ideal candidates would be energetic, motivated to learn, and able to handle a flexible schedule. The APP provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of settings; works under physician oversight as required by state regulation and functions within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant's specialty certification, Barnes-Jewish Hospital medical by-laws, and, where it exists, the collaborative practice agreement.Provides direct patient care to include obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment via observation, interview and examination; performs preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations and care; develops and implements patient-centered plan of care in collaboration with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, ancillary care providers and others as appropriate to the patient's condition.Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning disease management, complication prevention, disease prevention, and quality of life improvement measures, and outcome management activities.Monitors/ensures accuracy of patient medical records; Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established clinic/hospital standards.Manages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources; Champions the safety and quality of care for patients using ITB therapy and serves as an expert in the care and management of ITB pumps.
