Physician Position

Sign on and Relocation Bonus - $40,000!

Compensation $264,817 - $295,670 (Based on years of experience and achieving Access and Quality bonus compensation goals).

Job Summary The Physician's primary job function is to be responsible for provision of comprehensive primary care or subspecialty services for the patients of Columbia Valley Community Health. The Physician works independently and interdependently with other clinic providers.

Provides comprehensive and continuous medical care services within scope of medical specialty, including sanctioned non-clinic sites such as nursing homes, patient home, school-based clinics, mobile clinics, and tele-health settings. Provides consultation to other clinic providers either in person or by telephone. Consults with clinic Physicians, Specialists, Pharmacists, Nurses, or other health care professionals as appropriate. Assesses patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and makes appropriate referrals for service. Participates in hospital duties with other providers in keeping with hospital's medical staff privileges and membership expectations, as appropriate. Participates in audits and meets standards of CVCH Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs. Responsible for accurate and timely completion of billing documents. Provides patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit. Verifies and documents that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations. Provides clinical supervision and appropriate training of ancillary health care staff to assure quality of care for CVCH patients in coordination with Clinical Services Director, Nursing Supervisor, and nursing staff. Attends all required staff meetings, provider meetings, and participates in CVCH committees as directed by Medical Director. Participates in the education of health professionals in training, and professional oversight, when asked.

Education: Graduation from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy. If new graduate must become board certified within two years of employment date. Certification/Licensure: Must possess a current, valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington or be eligible to obtain licensure. Experience: Experience working in a community health center or managed care environment preferred. Language Skills: Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Perform complex and comprehensive medical care on a variety of patients. Must demonstrate ability to work with basic computer skills and MS Office products, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to apply basic statistical and mathematical concepts to patient data, test results and other related information. Interpersonal Skills: Stay attuned to the unique needs of the indigent and under-served populations with practice emphasis placed on rural medicine needs. Must demonstrate, emotional intelligence, leadership and team building skills. Ability to work at all site locations with diverse staff as needed. In areas of uncertainty, be confident is accessing needed information, additional education, or asking for help. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols, as well as the ability to utilize telephones, computer terminals, and copiers is required. Ability to help transfer patients. Requires working under stress in emergency situations and irregular hours. intermittently analyze work papers, reports and special projects; observe and problem solve operational and technical policies and procedures; explain medical procedures. Maintain unimpeachable skill and knowledge in the principles of sound medical practice. Must be able to communicate the base of knowledge necessary to mentor medical personnel. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general medical and other professional journals and governmental regulations. Essential sensory requirements include the ability to: read computer keyboard, monitor, and documents; prepare and analyze documents; see, recognize, receive and convey detailed information orally, by telephone and in person; convey accurate and detailed instructions by speaking to others in person and by telephone. Exposure to or use of sharps, potentially dangerous chemicals, exposure to body fluids/blood/tissue. Some travel may be required and may be exposed to outside working conditions when traveling to other work sites.

Medical, Dental, Paid Leave, Holidays, and CME benefits are prorated based on FTE

Medical Premera (Self Insured) Preferred Provider - Employee/Spouse/Dependents; Dental Washington Dental - Employee/Spouse/Dependents; Paid Leave may be used immediately for sick leave and after 3 months employment for vacation. If an employee is within their 90-day introductory period and does not have holiday pool hours available, PTO may be used to cover the holiday if the employee has an available balance.

Employees are eligible to use EIB hours after at least 3 consecutive scheduled working days of PTO (max 24 hours) which have been used for a personal illness and/or a qualifying event under FMLA or the WA Family Care Act.

Holidays - 64 hours related to: New Year's Day Memorial Day 4thof July Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Eve Christmas Day - Holidays are based on an 8-hour day. Providers will receive a holiday pool of 64 hours as a 1.0 FTE at the beginning of each calendar year.
