Diagnostic Breast Sonographer PRN
Work Location: 400 Medical Center Blvd Suite 100 Webster, TX 77598 (Clearlake)

Work Hours: PRN/As Needed - Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

The Diagnostic Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonography equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements. The individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique, communicate with the patient, relay pertinent information to the radiologist, and document on the tracking sheet/chart. The sonographer also communicates with the radiologist and performs any necessary additional exams.

Here Is What You Will Need

Education: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

Certificates: Active certification with ARDMS; current compliance with CME requirements.

Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate procedures to patients and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health.

Reading and writing medical terminology; ability to communicate information to doctors, patients, and other employees on a one‑to‑one and small‑group basis.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software and RIS/PACS software.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time.

A Day In The Life Of a Breast Sonographer

Provide services and support for the following areas:

Understand, promote, and demonstrate the Solis Way

Produce high‑quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam

Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly

Explain procedures adequately to patients to maximize comfort and cooperation

Monitor patients throughout all phases of the procedure, ensuring emotional and physical well‑being

Assist and/or chaperone radiologists when performing ultrasound exams

Assist radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using appropriate sterile technique and universal precautions
