Job Summary
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER) Washington, District of Columbia. The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide fast-paced emergency care, supporting critical care skills and coordinating safe, high-quality patient outcomes. Candidates must be able to work in the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN and be comfortable with high-acuity, varied patient populations. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
Schedule: 3 x 12s day shift; minimum 36.0 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state/district; Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred/desired); Emergency Room (ER) experience (required); Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Preferred Qualifications: BSN is highly desired; Cerner experience is required/expected for the role.
Additional Information: The role requires willingness/ability to work in the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN and readiness to work with patient ratio expectations up to 1:5. The Emergency Department environment includes care across urgent, psychiatric, pediatric, critical care, and trauma patients, with nursing responsibilities that may involve medication titrations, arterial lines, mass transfusion support, and chest tube care.
