Under the administrative direction of the Region Administrator (RA), the Area Manager serves as the principal assistant to the RA and provides leadership, oversight, and operational management for field offices within an assigned district. The Area Manager is responsible for ensuring effective and consistent field office operations through strategic planning, policy implementation, personnel management, budget oversight, and community engagement. This position collaborates closely with other Area Managers and leadership to support organizational goals, maintain service excellence, and promote operational efficiency across the region.

Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and administrative oversight for field offices within the assigned district.

Assist the Region Administrator in developing and implementing operational strategies, policies, and procedures.

Manage personnel activities, including workforce planning, performance management, and staff development.

Oversee budget planning, resource allocation, and fiscal management for district operations.

Monitor workload trends and develop short- and long-range plans to meet operational needs and organizational objectives.

Communicate and implement directives, policies, and initiatives to ensure consistent application across field offices.

Foster positive relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and external organizations.

Coordinate with other Area Managers to promote consistency, collaboration, and operational effectiveness throughout the region.

Evaluate field office performance and identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced service delivery.

Support organizational change initiatives and ensure compliance with departmental policies and regulations.

Describe your demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels within and outside the department. Include your demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise reports for executive and external audience.

Describe your demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct an office program.

Describe your knowledge of general management principles, state administration, budget, and personnel procedures, and fair labor issues related to the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Describe your knowledge of and experience in monitoring, developing, and implementing a new initiative, including motivating employees to ensure success.
