Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift Times: 8:30am - 5:30pm

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Active and valid LVN license (CA Board of Vocational Nursing)
• 1-2 years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting
• Previous flu/Vaccine clinic experience
• Knowledge of medical protocols, nursing policies, and procedures
• Comfortable administering vaccines to patients ages 6 months through adults.
• EPIC experience (highly preferred)

Experience in supporting physicians and RNs in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures

Bilingual skills for working with diverse patient populations

Strong understanding of nursing practices, medical protocols, and LVN scope of practice as defined by the California Board of Vocational Nursing.

Patient Care Skills: Proficiency in obtaining vital signs, collecting specimens, performing basic diagnostic tests, and assisting with procedures.

Skill in recognizing changes in patient conditions, accurately documenting findings, and reporting to RNs or physicians.

Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Ability to collaborate effectively with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare staff in a fast-paced environment.

Administers nursing care to patients according to physician's and Registered Nurse's instructions and approved nursing and departmental policies and procedures; as a team member, participates in planning and maintaining nursing care plans assists physician in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and treatments; Instructs and counsels patients relative to physical self-care and emotional needs concerning tests and specimen collections.

maintains medical records in order to meet legal requirements and provide reference for follow-up of patients' treatment and care.

maintains adequate supplies and equipment in assigned area.

Provides direct patient care to make patient clean and comfortable; may serve and feed patients; Recognizes and understands the effect of social and economic problems as well as cultural backgrounds and religious affiliations of patients and their families.

obtains specimens and may perform some required nursing diagnostic tests.

Understands human relationships between patients, families and other health care personnel.

When working in specialized areas, and after training in special procedures pertaining to such areas, performs specialized procedures as approved by nursing service policy.
