Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring tele experience and PALS certification due to pediatric admissions.
Details
Short term acute care hospital with 78 staffed beds
Med/Surg unit with telemetry monitoring, admits pediatric patients
Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:6
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:30 AM-6:00 PM)
Minimum of 3 weekends required within a 6 week period
Possibility of on-call assignment based on unit needs
Possibility of floating to other units or an affiliate hospital depending on census
Uses Meditech charting system
If a shift is called off, an additional shift must be picked up to make up for it
Requirements
Active IN or compact RN license required (must obtain before start if not yet held)
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS
PALS certification must be obtained prior to starting due to pediatric admissions to the unit
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
Telemetry experience required
Med/Surg and ambulatory experience preferred
Community hospital experience preferred
Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients
Additional Information
Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including telemetry monitoring and emergency response
Scrubs of any color are accepted as long as a professional appearance is maintained
Maximum RTO of 7 days, with willingness to work at least 1 of 3 major holidays if RTO falls during that time
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Candidates local within 50 miles of the hospital are accepted
Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
Up to 8 hours of onboarding modules preferred to be completed within 1 week of signing
