Job Description:
Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Floater
Location: 19550 E 39th St, Independence, MO 64057
Contract Duration: 4+ months contract with possible extension
Hours: 40 hours/week
Schedule: Monday-Friday; varied 8-hour shifts between 6:30 AM-5:30 PM
Saturday: Rotating every 4th Saturday, 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Job Responsibilities:

Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
Collect, prepare, process, and handle clinical and forensic specimens according to established procedures.
Verify patient demographics and identification before specimen collection.
Obtain patient signature following venipuncture to verify correct specimen labeling.
Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
Follow established safety, infection-control, and specimen-handling procedures.
Provide professional and compassionate patient service while creating a comfortable environment during blood collection.
Perform daily activities accurately and on time in a fast-paced environment.
Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Travel and provide coverage at multiple Patient Service Center and in-office phlebotomy locations based on business needs.
Adapt to varying schedules and locations with minimal notice.
Manage multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume setting.
Demonstrate strong customer focus and communicate openly with patients, peers, supervisors, and clients.
Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
Follow company policies, procedures, dress code, employee health and safety standards, and workplace guidelines.
Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent - Required .
• 3+ years of phlebotomy experience - Required .
• Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Keyboard/data-entry experience.
• Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if travel is required.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
• Flexibility to travel between multiple locations and adjust to changing schedules.
• Strong judgment, organizational skills, communication, and customer-service abilities.
