Summary: Our Early Learning Center (ELC) strives to provide high-quality early childhood education and early intervention for children with and without disabilities in an inclusive educational setting. The Teacher Assistant participates in the planning and implementation of classroom activities and provides basic care for Infants and Toddlers enrolled in the program.
This is a full time position (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm.
This position pays an hourly range of $23.43 - $24.80 depending on education level.
Assist with the planning and implementation of classroom activities
Maintain appropriate cleanliness of the room and materials including strict adherence to program sanitation and procedures
Lesson planning for small group activities
Ensure that written and verbal communication with parent consistently occurs and is documented
Participate in staff development training activities and learning opportunities
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma and Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate or AA degree in Early Childhood Education required
COVID-19 - you are required to provide proof of vaccination prior to your first day of work
Other physical demands includes bending and stooping to assist children with dressing needs, toileting, transitioning from sitting on floor or chair to standing during classroom activities, transferring non-ambulatory children to and from wheelchairs, strollers, chairs, therapy equipment, changing tables, cribs, etc.
Children with a diagnose such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Sensory Integration disorder, Behavioral problems, Cerebral Palsy, often will pull/jerk away or bolt/run from caregivers. Moving or lifting of any child may be required in an emergency situation (i.e. to assist toddlers in evacuating the building or to ascend or descend stairs) and/or to prevent injury on playground or other outdoor situations/activities.
