However, if there are any call‑ins or vacation requests for the therapist in Duncanville there will be opportunity for coverage there as well

Job Summary The Radiation Therapist, supervised by a Radiation Oncologist, performs radiation therapy on patients. This is done as requested by a physician or licensed provider, following established protocols.
Essential Functions Of The Role Performs high‑quality radiation therapy procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner.
Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
Position the patient, adjust immobilization devices, and move equipment into position. Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection control, drug and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques.
Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.
Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment performance. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory.
Ensures people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documents like requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies, and procedures.
Maintain medical imaging records in the correct system. Follow department policies and standards for timely interpretation.
Key Success Factors Able to perform high‑quality radiation therapy procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
Provide services quickly, accurately, and cost‑efficiently, following System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
Able to effectively administer first aid and use the emergency cart.
Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service. Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, education, and skills for these age groups: newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult, and geriatric.
Able to serve as a preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
Qualifications CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - ARRT‑T Radiation Therapy (ARRT‑T): Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (ARRT‑T).
