Inventory Planning and Purchasing Buyer

The Buyer is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of assigned commodities in support of production and business objectives. This includes demand forecasting, placing purchase orders, managing suppliers, providing shop support, and inventory control.
Forecast material requirements based on production needs, demand plans, and historical usage.
Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
Evaluate suppliers by considering price, quality, availability, and other criteria.
Monitor and manage inventory levels.
Evaluate supplier performance and lead corrective actions as needed.
Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data within the ERP/MRP system.
Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams to resolve supply issues.
Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and demand planning principles.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
3+ years of purchasing experience is required.
Bachelor's degree in a business field is preferred.
