Description:
Must have experience in cardiac progressive care and be comfortable with patient ratios of 1:5.
This position involves working three 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30.
Weekend rotation and holidays as needed are required.
Staff are scheduled for a 6-week period based on departmental needs and patient work intensity.
Role includes interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
The nurse will care for patients with congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and arrhythmias.
Experience with pre and post-cardiac catheterization and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips is necessary.
Responsibilities include procedural sedation administration, chest tube management, and tracheostomy management.
The unit is a 30-private bed cardiac medical progressive care department providing 24/7 care.
Rooms are monitored remotely.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are primarily 1:5, with 1:4 ratios when managing patients on drips or BiPAP.
Use of rapid response teams is preferred.
Nurse Assistants are available 24/7, and unit secretaries are present during the day shift.
This role requires skills in various cardiac procedures and patient management.
Floating may occur to other units as needed.
