Custodian
The Custodian plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all members, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the facility during daytime hours, supporting high-traffic areas, and assisting with light maintenance tasks as needed. The Custodian ensures that the YMCA remains a positive, healthy, and member-focused space throughout the day.

Facility Cleanliness & Upkeep

Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping surfaces, and emptying trash.

Provide friendly, helpful service to members and staff when assistance is needed.
Respond promptly to cleaning requests, spills, or safety concerns.
Communicate any facility issues, hazards, or repair needs to supervisor.
Follow all YMCA cleaning protocols, safety procedures, and chemical handling guidelines.
Ensure all equipment and supplies are used safely and stored properly.
Assist with room setups/breakdowns for rentals and light maintenance tasks as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning of the facility.
One or more years of experience in custodial work or a closely related field preferred.
Must meet all Association-wide training requirements.
Shovel or clear snow and perform outdoor tasks as needed
