Production Machinist -- Full-Time

Machinist (Manual) Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Production Supervisor Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Machinist to perform repairs and fabrications of components for a variety of mechanical systems including AC/DC motors, generators, pumps, gearboxes, turbines, and more. The ideal candidate will use manual machinery, such as lathes, mills, shapers, drill presses, grinders, and will also be involved in electroplating processes. This position requires a strong knowledge of machine procedures, mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, and layout, with a focus on precision and quality. This is a non-CNC position. Key Responsibilities: Machining: Perform repairs and fabrication of components for motors, generators, pumps, turbines, and gearboxes using manual lathes, mills, shapers, drill presses, and grinders. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining procedures, dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements. Diagnose issues with damaged or worn components and determine the most effective method of repair or fabrication. Material Handling: Select appropriate materials for fabrication, taking into consideration their properties and suitability for the application. Troubleshoot mechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Maintenance: Maintain equipment and machinery in optimal working condition, performing routine inspections and basic maintenance as needed.
