Are you a skilled and compassionate RN ready to step into a leadership role? Join our team and make a meaningful impact by guiding patient care, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring a safe, structured environment for children and adolescents receiving psychiatric care. The Charge Nurse oversees and coordinates patient care activities during the assigned shift, providing direction to both licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel. This role plays a key part in staff development, performance evaluation, and maintaining a high standard of care. You will serve as the on-site leader in the absence of management, support crisis response efforts, and help ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for all patients.
Lead, organize, and direct nursing staff to ensure appropriate staffing ratios and high-quality care
Act as the on-shift leader, maintaining accountability for program operations
Support staff through coaching, training, and performance feedback
Maintain clear, timely, and confidential documentation and communication
Provide direct patient care while modeling best practices
Keep leadership informed of shift activities, concerns, and outcomes
Associate degree in Nursing required; Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas
ANCC Psychiatric Nursing Certification preferred
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse

Previous charge nurse or leadership experience; pediatric behavioral health experience
Experience with electronic medication administration records (eMAR) and electronic health records (EHR)
