Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift - 13 Weeks Contract
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The focus is on patient and employee safety, following comprehensive safety policies and practices.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission.
Identify teaching needs and goals related to individual patient diagnoses.
Provide accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records.
Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education based on identified health care needs.
Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status to ensure continuity of care.
Supervise and provide guidance to ancillary nursing personnel, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
Maintain safety and compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
Assume charge responsibility as needed after orientation.
Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Current RN license is required.
BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (for specific locations).
Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
Schedule
This position follows a Day Shift schedule, consisting of 3x12 hours.
