Responsibilities
Assess and triage ED patients, initiating initial treatment plans and prioritizing care based on acuity.
Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and provide treatments within scope of practice.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care and facilitate efficient patient flow.
Document observations, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and safety considerations; coordinate transfers when needed.
Requirements
Active RN license required to practice in the United States (state-specific licensure generally applicable to this assignment).
ER nursing experience preferred; strong ability to manage high-acuity, fast-paced situations.
Ability to work a 12-hour day shift (7:00 AM-7:00 PM) in a travel assignment environment.
BLS required; ACLS preferred to support advanced life support needs in the ED.
Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills; comfort working in a rural, small-community hospital setting.
