Qualifications/Requirements

Ph.D. in Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field (ABD candidates may be considered).

Commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.

Ability to direct undergraduate and graduate research.

Potential and dedication to attract extramural funding.

Ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, staff, and students from varied socioeconomic/ethnic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Teach introductory biology, genetics, cell biology, and other undergraduate and graduate courses as needed based on departmental needs and applicants' expertise.

Teach online courses based on departmental needs and applicants' expertise.

Direct undergraduate and graduate research.

Serve on departmental and university committees.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Chairperson and Dean.

Fulfill other duties expected of a faculty member, such as student advising, departmental recruitment and retention activities, public services, etc.
