REGISTERED NURSE - NICU Night Shift

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides specialized nursing care to newborns and infants, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and patient safety. This role involves managing patient care with a ratio of 1:2, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and floating to pediatric and pediatric intensive care units as needed. The nurse must be adaptable to multiple hospital locations and maintain compliance with required certifications and orientation processes.
Responsibilities:
Provide skilled nursing care to newborns and infants in the NICU setting.
Manage patient care with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Float to Pediatric (Peds) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as assigned.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Complete required virtual and unit orientation modules and shifts.
Maintain accurate patient documentation, preferably using EPIC charting system.
Work across multiple hospital campuses as required.
Adhere to facility policies including COVID-19 vaccination requirements and credentialing standards.
Required Skills & Certifications:
Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience.
Active Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Experience managing patient ratios of 1:2.
Ability to float to Pediatrics and PICU units.
References covering at least 1 year of recent specialty experience, including a supervisor or charge RN reference.
Driver's license and ability to travel to multiple hospital campuses.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
~ Experience with EPIC electronic health record charting system.

Special Considerations:
Must float among seven hospital campuses: Ballard, Cherry Hill, Edmonds, First Hill, Issaquah, Mill Creek, and Redmond.
COVID-19 vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions must be approved with facility-specific declination form completed prior to starting.
Travel nurses may not concurrently work at multiple Providence facilities.
Returning Providence/Swedish employees must have a minimum 6-month separation before reapplying.
Scheduling:

• Per diem schedule requiring 5 days of work per week, either Wednesday through Sunday or Thursday through Monday.
• Work 3 shifts per week with a guarantee of 2 shifts.
• Night shifts, 12 hours in length, from 1900 to 0730.
• 13-week contracts available with potential for extension based on scheduling compliance.
• Orientation includes approximately 21 hours of virtual modules and 2 unit orientation shifts scheduled post-completion.
