LPN Opportunities At G.Fountain Correctional Facility

NaphCare is hiring LPNs to join our team of medical professionals in Atmore, AL, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the G.Fountain Correctional Facility.

Full Time and Part Time positions may be available!

As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

As an LPN, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history

Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas

Administering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reaction to meds

Maintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCare

Observing patient health and mental health status

Providing emergency first aid

Providing patient education and discharge/release planning

Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues

Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements

Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
