The Department of Health Care Policy (HCP) is a dynamic, data-driven research environment that brings together economists, statisticians, physicians and health services researchers focused on improving health and health care delivery through comprehensive policy research and education.
Leila Agha, the Research Assistant (RA) will help coordinate the daily operations of research related to applied microeconomics focusing on health care, innovation, and Medicare policy. Project topics may include studying the variation in diagnostic efficiency across hospitals, and studying geographic variation in maternal health outcomes.

The research assistant will assist with literature reviews, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and research management, in close collaboration with faculty mentors and other members of the research team.
As part of your application, we recommend including a cover letter that will help us better understand your qualifications and background. One or more years of related research experience. Applicants should have proficiency in using statistical software such as STATA, R, and/or SAS.
A background in statistical programming (competency in STATA, R or SAS) and a basic understanding of econometrics or statistics is strongly encouraged.
BA or BS, preferably in the field of specific research study, with a preference for coursework in a social science field (e.g. economics, statistics, or public policy with a quantitative focus).
Interest or experience in health care research.
Must be proficient with most computer software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Term: This is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.
