Job Description
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency environment. The nurse will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
Responsibilities
Perform triage and manage the care of patients in the emergency department.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Implement isolation precautions and manage infection control practices.
Monitor hemodynamic status and respond to changes in patient conditions.
Ensure proper documentation and charting using the EPIC system.
Support pediatric and geriatric patients as needed, including utilizing CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management.
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care coordination.
Provide education and support to patients and families regarding their treatment plans.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in an Adult Emergency Department.
Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at the time of submission.
Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, ITTC-De-escalation Training.
Experience with central line care/management, IV therapy, and phlebotomy.
Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and management of dysrhythmias.
Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors.
