Medical Lab Scientist IIPride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Scientist II to support our client's healthcare facility in Birmingham AL 35235.Location: Birmingham AL 35235 Job Type: Local Contract Contract Length: 4+ Months Pay Rate: $35-$40/hr Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.Perform specimen handling, processing, and analysis following approved laboratory SOPsConduct testing using validated laboratory procedures and instrumentationReview, verify, and release patient test results accuratelyMaintain complete and accurate records of all testing, QC, calibrations, and instrument maintenanceEnsure proficiency testing samples are processed the same as patient specimensFollow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelinesDocument quality control activities, corrective actions, and procedural calibrationsIdentify test system issues, troubleshoot problems, and escalate concerns to senior technologists or supervisorsReport STAT and critical results per departmental protocolsMaintain reagent and test kit logs including received, opened, and expiration datesParticipate in department training, procedure updates, and monthly educational meetingsSupport safety initiatives and regulatory inspections as neededMaintain cleanliness, organization, and overall department appearanceProvide excellent customer support when interacting with clients or internal lab teamsPerform additional duties as assigned by supervisorRequirements:BS in Medical Technology preferred, OR BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, OR Associate degree in Laboratory Science.ASCP or AMT certification required/eligibleForeign-educated candidates must provide IERF credential evaluationMinimum 5 years of clinical/Microbiology laboratory experienceHigh-complexity testing experience preferredNational and state licensure as preferred.We do not discriminate on the basis of the race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical disability, mental disability, reproductive health decision making, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, sexual orientation, veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with applicable state and local Fair Chance laws and ordinances, including, the California Fair Chance Act and all applicable local Fair Chance ordinances.AccommodationsWe are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to applicants and employees with disabilities.
