Mechanical Engineering Senior

Job OverviewThis position will work in the ACME division of Hubbell, developing and producing standard and custom transformers up to 1250 KVA. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing new mechanical designs in order to reduce cost and meet customer requirements. In addition, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and Sales personnel, ensuring production orders are produced correctly and on time. #LI-MM1A Day In The LifeLead mechanical design for new products and make improvements to existing products to ensure ACME maintains a strong cost positionInterface directly with manufacturing team to resolve production issuesTravel as necessary to customer sites, meetings, conferences etc.Create development and production drawings in SolidWorksCreate Bills of Material and Routings for products within SAPUpdate Engineering documentationWhat will help you thrive in this role?Must have experience in the transformer industry or related fieldMust be self-motivated with a proven track record of application of mechanical design conceptsMust be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base with unique Engineered to Order (ETO) productProficient with SolidWorks or equivalent softwareFluent with SAP or similar ERP systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Knowledge of UL standards related to electrical productsAble to generate/read/interpret electrical schematicsEducation: BS in Mechanical Engineering.
