Associate Veterinarian - Idaho Falls, Idaho

About the Role

A veterinary practice is seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join its established small animal team in Idaho Falls, Idaho .

The position offers ProSal compensation of $140,000-$185,000 with no negative accrual , alongside sign-on incentives and/or relocation assistance .

With flexible scheduling, no weekends, no after-hours or on-call responsibilities and a dedicated two-hour midday break , this opportunity provides an excellent work-life balance while allowing veterinarians to maintain a varied medical, surgical and dental caseload.

Both experienced veterinarians and recent graduates are encouraged to apply, with mentorship, continuing education and hands-on clinical development available.

About the Practice

This is a busy, established four-doctor small animal practice providing high-quality general veterinary medicine within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Veterinarians benefit from an excellent 3:1 staff-to-doctor ratio , with experienced and well-trained support professionals helping doctors focus their time on medicine, surgery and client communication.

The hospital is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house diagnostics and surgical lasers , supporting comprehensive medical, diagnostic and surgical care.

Clinical autonomy is encouraged while maintaining a team-based approach to case management. The practice also has an established client base and places a strong emphasis on long-term relationships with pet owners.

Located in Idaho Falls, Idaho , the position provides access to extensive outdoor recreation, including hiking, mountain biking, climbing, fly-fishing, rafting and skiing, with Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks also within driving distance.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive preventive, medical, surgical and dental care to small animal patients.

Perform physical examinations, diagnostic investigations and medical work-ups and develop individualised treatment plans.

Utilise in-house diagnostic imaging and laboratory capabilities to investigate and manage clinical cases.

Perform appropriate general surgical and dental procedures.

Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients through clear communication, education and compassionate care.

Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records.

Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians and support professionals to maintain excellent clinical standards and efficient patient care.

Participate in mentorship, continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid Idaho veterinary licence .

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, compassionate and committed to delivering high-quality small animal medicine.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important, alongside an interest in building lasting client relationships and working effectively within a team.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply , with mentorship and hands-on development available across medicine, surgery and dentistry.

Experienced veterinarians looking for increased autonomy and potential long-term ownership opportunities are also welcomed.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $140,000-$185,000 ProSal with no negative accrual

Schedule: Flexible full-time or part-time, with 8:00am-6:00pm shifts

No weekends, after-hours or on-call responsibilities

Dedicated 12:00pm-2:00pm midday break
