Head of Food Services

Job Overview
Supervises Food Service team members in assigned work location. Maintains the highest food quality, customer service excellence, and cost control in conjunction with regulatory compliance. Oversees Food Service in the absence of direct managers. Assists in the day-to-day operations of the department, supporting cross-functional work teams.

Location: Colorado Springs
Job Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shift: Days. Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Duties & Responsibilities

Hands-on supervisor for Food Service team members in assigned work location.

Oversees appropriate staffing levels and job routines in conjunction with Food Service management team.

Educates team members on job functions and processes. Ensures proper training of team members by utilizing resources available within the team.

Develops clear goals and objectives for performance management with team members. Responsible for holding team members accountable. Completes and delivers performance evaluations to direct reports.

Oversees cash control, customer service, and operations.

Ensures proper sanitation and food safety standards are met.

Create a positive work environment by assisting team members with customer support when needed. Maintains a positive rapport with internal and external customers through customer service.

Conducts service recovery with team members, patients and families.

Ensures food and beverage items are rotated, temperatures are taken, and products are labeled.

Assists with menu development, product selection and measures to reduce waste.

Writes team member schedules. Completes Kronos and other relevant time keeping administration tasks.

Other duties as assigned.

Scope and Level

Guidelines : Guidelines are in the form of stated objectives for the section, unit, function, or project. Is normally the first level of full supervision in a classification series. Performs most elements of supervision over 50% of the time. May also perform the work of frontline staff as needed.

Complexity : Work assignment is generally unstructured, and employee is responsible for assigning and supervising a variety of functions to achieve the objectives of the section, unit, or project. Duties performed involve weighing and evaluating factors requiring judgment, analytical ability, and problem solving.

Decision Making : Employee is responsible for simultaneous coordination and supervision of several functions, programs, or projects in various stages of completion. Primary responsibility for arranging and directing the work of two or more employees.

Communications : Contacts are of a non-prescribed nature involving the negotiation and resolution of problems and where exceptional degrees of discretion, judgment, and specialized knowledge are required in carrying out the programs and policies of an organization.

Supervision Received : Under managerial direction, the employee has personal accountability for carrying out the work objectives of an organizational unit or section within the scope of established guidelines and the mission of the organization or department. Employee is expected to resolve problems that arise in the normal course of the work. Work may be discussed with higher level supervisors and reviewed for soundness of judgment and feasibility of decisions.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees

High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Two (2) years of experience in customer service industry.

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Hourly Range: $24.48 to $36.72
