Maintenance Assistant

Amount of Travel Required: 4 days/month
Monday – Friday 2 p.m. -PAY RANGE: $20.69 - $22.30 per hour
*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.
Maintenance Assistant will respond to maintenance requests to maintain a safe and functional workplace. Assist NWTC staff with general maintenance activities. Open/close locations as needed for College operations or events. Maintain grounds by the safe operation of equipment including mowers, handheld power equipment, trimmers and a variety of snow equipment. Ability to Identify and complete maintenance tasks as needed. Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment, facilities vehicles and buildings to ensure proper operation and functionality, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
Interior maintenance including lighting, interior finishes, painting, electrical, cabling, furniture repair, etc.
Exterior maintenance including general grounds work, snow removal, building envelope maintenance, painting, etc.
Respond in a timely manner to work requests, providing service as needed to the customer's satisfaction.
Safety First operation of vehicles and grounds equipment, with all work being completed per applicable safety regulations and applicable building codes.
Written, Oral, and Electronic communication to keep teammates and management informed about project status, equipment repairs, general building concerns and emergencies as they arise.
Maintenance of these systems.
High School diploma or equivalent

Two years of maintenance and/or building and grounds maintenance experience

Currently have, or the ability to obtain, Forklift and Aerial Lift Certification(s)

**An equivalent combination of work experience and education may be considered.
Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Districts Mutual Insurance and Risk Management Services' terms.
This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing in accordance with College policy. Mobility: Ability to navigate throughout campus and work environments, including classrooms, labs, clinical settings, operational spaces, and community-based instructional environments. Some positions may require movement on lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or within confined spaces.
Ability to operate tools, instructional equipment, machinery, technology, controls, or other equipment required for the position, including pushing, pulling, or maneuvering equipment as needed.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to safely utilize required protective equipment, when applicable.
Material Handling: Ability to transport, move, lift, or carry materials and equipment required for the position, with or without assistance or adaptive equipment, if applicable.
Environmental Conditions: Some positions may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, outdoor conditions, industrial environments, laboratory settings, or other position-specific work environments.
Ability to effectively access, interpret, and exchange information with students, employees, and community members.
