Position Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for our patients, creating a welcoming and positive experience from check-in to check-out. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, managing referrals, and ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Welcome patients and visitors in person and over the phone

Check patients in and out while maintaining exceptional customer service

Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and financial informationSchedule appointments and provide appointment summaries

Optimize patient satisfaction, provider efficiency, and treatment room utilization

Maintain communication with the pre-certification team regarding patient orders

Track and follow up on patient cancellations and no-shows

Perform daily audits of assigned tasks

Follow up on outpatient and surgical referrals

Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR

Assist with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Caring, patient-focused attitude

Knowledge of medical terminology

Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR)

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Working knowledge of office technology and computer systems

Prior medical front desk or medical receptionist experience preferred

Orthopedic experience is a plus

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED required

Associate degree or higher preferred

Minimum of 1 year of medical front desk experience preferred

Customer service experience required

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer

Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
