Description: Department: Respiratory Therapy

The number of treatments per day varies depending on the season, with a maximum of 30 per shift. Workload is divided by floor, which may lead to heavier workloads at times. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CRT or RRT. STABLE and NRP certifications are only required for travelers handling babies in the NICU. Patient types range from NICU to geriatrics. Responsibilities include treating patients in ICU, stepdown, MedSurg, small Peds unit, but there is no PICU. Coverage areas include inpatient and emergency rooms. Drawing and analyzing ABGs

There is a designated team lead or charge therapist on each shift. Travelers may be assigned as charge therapists based on their level of experience and willingness. Travelers will not be the only respiratory therapist in-house. Equipment used includes Drager vents, Cervo-NICU, Hamilton transport vent, vapotherm, and Philips v60 and v30. Shifts are scheduled as 12-hour shifts, with self-scheduling and block scheduling options available. Holidays will be worked as needed. Call or standby call requirements are minimal based on contract terms. Floating may occur to ICU, floors, NICU, and emergency rooms. Medical, dental & vision insurance
