Job Title: Cardiac Cath RN
Registered Nurse
Shift: 10-hour days, 4 x 10's with call
Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week
Must be able to read telemetry strips and titrate drips.
- Preferable experience with peripheral angiography cases and IR & neuro intervention.
The unit has 6 pre/post beds.
Common diagnoses and types of patients include STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, all heart catheters, peripheral angiograms, IVC placement, temporary pacemaker insertion, TEE's, cardioversions, and EP studies.
There is a charge nurse who takes assignments sometimes.
Shifts may require staying late depending on cases.
Department-specific orientation is typically 1 week, involving 4 shifts.
The charting system used is EPIC.
The position operates in an acute care setting.
The trauma level is 2.
