Workplace: On-site, Hybrid, Remote Farmers believes in a culture of collaboration, creativity, and innovation, which thrives when we have the ability to work flexibly in a virtual setting as well as the opportunity to be together in person. Our hybrid work environment combines the best of both worlds with at least three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days virtual for employees who live within fifty (50) miles of a Farmers corporate office. Participates in training program to learn basic policies, practices, procedures, and strategies needed to become a Claims Representative. Trains to handle low to moderately complex claims promptly, proactively, and with a sense of urgency. Trainee is required to pass an exam at certain phases of the training program. Trainees who successfully complete this training program may be placed into a Claims Representative role of equivalent salary grade.

In a supervised learning environment, trains to adjust low to moderately complex claims. Learns skills such as conducting thorough investigations, establishing damages, determining liability, negotiating settlements, making claim payments, confirming policy coverage, and explaining claim determination to parties incident to the claim. Works in electronic claim files to handle assigned claims within designated authority. Learns to manage diaries, update claim files and move them to closure according to established procedures and job aids provided for training purposes. Trains to inspect vehicles and property to assess claim related damage. Reports theft, fraud, and arson losses as required by state and industry regulations. Trains to interact professionally and courteously with stakeholders including policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, repair facilities, contractors, police and fire departments, state and country fraud and arson specialists, special investigators, attorneys, medical professionals and other persons incident to the investigation and processing of claims. This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred. Some experience in insurance or a related field preferred. Claims experience preferred.
