Transportation Engineer Department: Transportation Employment Type: Full Time Location: Las Cruces, NM Reporting To: Alonzo Martinez Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 / year Description Unmatched Comp Time Policy: Hours worked over 40 in a week can be reimbursed as additional pay at an equivalent hourly rate or banked as additional PTO. As a Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish. Whether you're aiming toward Project Management, deeper technical specialization, or something in between, we shape that path around you, backed by mentorship and real project variety to get you there. Design and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails

Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects

Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects

Lead a project team consisting of engineers, designers, and field personnel involved in the design, modification, analysis, and constructability of water systems

Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders

Coordinate with office management and other project managers to share resources

Also prepare the scope, schedule, and budget for new projects

Interface with clients including state and local agencies

Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues

Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.

Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements

Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation

Take ownership of projects from start to finish

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • 8+ years experience in Transportation
  • Professional Civil Engineering certification (P.Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices
  • Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client's overall project goal
