Evening Recruiter

Regional Recruiter for Northeast Recruitment responsible for undergraduate student recruitment within the Northeast region, including the New York metro area and New England. The role focuses on recruitment travel in the assigned territory and reviewing applications for other regions in the college’s primary markets.

Recruit and enroll students from researched markets in the Northeast region.

Represent Virginia Tech at college fairs, high school visits, CBO and IEC presentations, spring college nights, college summer camps, etc.

Evaluate assigned applications and aid in the yield of admitted students.

Maintain extensive personal contact with prospects, parents, counselors, and other educational professionals in person, by phone, e‑mail, and social media.

Arrange off‑campus recruitment and yield programs and receptions.

Co‑manage programs that contribute to the overall success of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions recruitment efforts, such as alumni and parent admissions events, CBO outreach, counselor luncheons, counselor tours, and social media campaigns.

Travel extensively across the Northeast territory and attend recruitment programs throughout the region; attend up to 4–6 trips to Blacksburg for training, updates, and on‑campus programs.

Will be required to work evening and weekend hours and stand or walk for extended periods.

Bachelor’s degree.

Several years of experience in an undergraduate admission office.

Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.

Willingness and ability to travel extensively and visit campus.

Strong experience with event planning and service to students and parents.

Willing and able to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends; Experience with high schools, community colleges, independent counselor groups, and community‑based organizations in the Northeast territory.

Experience with CRM, Microsoft tools, and Google Apps suite.

Knowledge of current recruiting trends and professional standards and codes of ethics (e.g., Proficiency in written and spoken foreign language.
