Temporary Tax Preparer
$70 - $85 per hourLedgent
***THIS IS A 100% IN OFFICE ROLE IN CYPRESS/NORTHWEST HOUSTON. HOUSTON AREA CANDIDATES ONLY, PLEASE.**** Northwest Houston company is needing an Indirect Tax Consultant for a long-term temporary/contract project.
Key Details:
- Multi-state tax compliance with operations primarily in Texas and brokered services across the lower 48 states
- Heavy focus on Sales & Use Tax and Fuel Excise Tax
- Review and ensure proper state tax filings and compliance
- Assess current tax processes and identify discrepancies
- Support Avalara implementation and validate accuracy of setup/configuration. Recently migrated to business central and Avalara is a plugin to this.
- Will work independently with support from the accounting team
- Transportation, fuel, energy, logistics, or fuel distribution industry experience highly preferred
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 10+ years of indirect tax compliance experience including at the management level
- Multi-state Sales & Use Tax experience
- Excise/Fuel Tax knowledge
- Avalara experience
- Strong compliance and process improvement background
- Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision
Pay range $70-85/hr. depending upon experience.
