Bartender – Premier Airline Lounge (IAH Airport)Location: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), Terminal D, Houston, TX Certification Required: TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) CertifiedJob SummaryThe Air France Lounge Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to premium international travelers in a fast-paced airport lounge environment. This role supports Air France's branded guest experience, requiring polished, professional service, strict compliance with Texas alcohol service laws, and the ability to manage service efficiently around flight departure times.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, stock, and requisition the bar, including beer, wine, spirits, and paper/bar suppliesPrepare and serve beverages to lounge guests with a high standard of hospitality reflecting the Air France brandCheck guest ID to verify legal drinking age (21+) before serving alcoholPractice responsible alcohol service, including portion control and refusing service when appropriate, per TABC regulationsMonitor the self-serve or attended bar/buffet areaMaintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, lounge, and surrounding guest areasOperate POS/cashiering systems if applicablePerform opening and closing duties, including inventory and cleaningCommunicate courteously with an international clientele; additional languages (especially French) are a plus given the airline's brandingComply with airport security requirements, including obtaining/maintaining a SIDA badgeRequirementsValid TABC Certification (required)Food Handler Certification (typically required)At least 1 year of bartending or related beverage service experienceAbility to pass an airport security/background checkAbility to stand/walk for extended shifts (6–8+ hours) and lift up to 50 lbsFlexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysStrong English communication skills, verbal and written; French language skills a plus but not always requiredCompensation & Benefits (typical for this role type)Hourly wage plus tipsMay include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), PTO, and holiday pay depending on the contracting employerPlease note: due to the nature of lounge service, gratuities are minimal.
