Oncology/Hematology Physician - Locum to Perm

Jackson & Coker is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Oncologist for a locum tenens opportunity in California, starting August 3rd and continuing ongoing. This role involves providing general oncology care in an outpatient clinic setting, with a focus on managing a diverse patient panel. The position offers a consistent schedule and the chance to work with a supportive team while a permanent physician is being recruited.Practice InfoSetting: Outpatient clinicTypes of cases: General Oncology, with Breast composing 30% of the oncology volume, followed by Prostate at 15%, with OB/GYN, lung, and colorectal each comprising approximately 10–13%Patients per day: 2 oncology consults, 1 hematology consult, 12–16 follow-upsAdmissions per day: 0–1No induction therapies, bi-specifics, or BMT/Car-T performedSupport staff includes scheduler, clinical supervisor, medical assistant, nurse navigation, social work, triage RN, and infusion RNsEMR: OncoEMR (outpatient), Cerner (inpatient charting, lab results, DI results)ResponsibilitiesOrder and interpret diagnostic testing including blood work, biopsies, and imagingAnalyze biopsy results and collaborate with pathologyOrder chemotherapy and immunotherapies using NCCN, UpToDate, and MicromedexBenefitsTop-rated malpractice insuranceShift & ScheduleAugust 3 – August 7August 10 – August 14August 31 – September 4September 7 – September 11Tuesday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PMTarget 16 days per monthNo weekends requiredRequirementsBoard Certified Oncology - highly preferredBoard Eligible accepted if newly out of residencyActive California state licenseFellowship in Hematology or OncologyBLSDEAMedicare Eligible Provider
