The Cost Accountant reports to the Operations Controller and is responsible for providing Cost Accounting and Financial Support for activities related to all Conn Selmer manufacturing and distribution facilities; includes cost maintenance, cycle count analysis, production order variance reviews, and month-end journal entries. Assist with other monthly, quarterly and or annual accounting tasks as assigned by finance.

Month End Journal Entries and Accruals for Manufacturing/Distribution Facilities

Periodic Metrics and KPIs related to plant performance

Work with Engineering and Materials to develop accurate product structures facilitating Labor Reporting and Material Consumption as appropriate to support effective and efficient reporting

Active Role to ensure all plant activities are properly reflected in monthly financial statements

Cycle Count Variance Root Cause, Warehouse CC Audits with tracking of the quarterly audit results

Physical Inventory Process and Analysis

Perpetual to GL reconciliations each quarter

Material, Labor and Overhead Variance Analysis

Cycle Count audits and trend tracking of the quarterly audit results at Distribution Warehouse

Respond to local and corporate management as assigned with accurate and timely work

Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment

Bachelor degree in accounting is preferred or equivalent experience

Two years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

Proficient knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Tools

Planning and Organizational Skills - Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans

Hearing and visual acuity necessary

Requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, and mandatory hearing protection
