Temporary Groundskeeper

Location: SGSC – Douglas Campus (Main)

Job Summary

This is manual work involving a variety of weather conditions. The position provides maintenance to the campus grounds.

Responsibilities

Clean and blow off sidewalks, gutters, storm drains, and steps.

Rake and load grass and bushes; mow lawns and clean grounds.

Water plants and assist in the care of shrubs, flowers, and grass.

Take out trash around campus.

May operate chainsaws and assist with tree removal.

Perform related work with building maintenance, grounds, and custodians.

Set up and take down bleachers, floating chairs, and other furniture and equipment for student registrations, meetings, and other events.

Move furniture and equipment and perform related custodial work.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements : GED or High School Diploma.

Other Required Qualifications : Valid Driver's License.

Required Experience : 1‑year experience working in a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Positive attitude and tactful, courteous interactions with coworkers, students, faculty, and staff.

Effective communication and ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Experience performing manual work.
