Rehab Counselor - Mental Health

Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor
Promoting long-term recovery and self-sufficiency through community-based job placement assistance for clients in active treatment and recovery from substance use disorders.
This position is grant funded by The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS)
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
Master's degree (MS or MEd) in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling
CASAC, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, and/or Master's in a related field
Working with adults diagnosed with substance use disorders
Delivering 1:1 and group Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling to clients with substance use disorders

• Services may be delivered virtually, in the office, in the client's home, or in a community location based on client need and preference
• Helping clients identify and pursue their employment goals by:

Guiding clients through skill-building and career planning activities

Providing pre-employment skill development, resume building, job search assistance, and interview prep
Working in partnership with local businesses, workforce programs, supporters, and job development/technical assistance liaisons toward client goals

Using social networking and internet research techniques for job placement, while ensuring consistent, structured communication between employment counselors, job developers, and placement providers
Maintaining accurate client records and documentation for services provided in the agency's Electronic Health Record
Maintaining data as it relates to program performance, client outcomes, and statewide impact of this initiative, as per OASAS standards
Facilitating sharing of data with the individuals to whom it applies to facilitate partnered decision-making and to keep clients informed of progress
Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed
Ability to cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views and experiences. Health and Safety Awareness: Include any relevant knowledge or experience regarding health and safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all employees
