Part time dish washer/ Flexible hours

*** Part- Time Monday- Friday between the hours of 8:30 A.M.- 4:30 P.M., Pay Rate: $16.50 Per Hour***

Summary/Primary Purpose: To assist the Chef in the preparation of wholesome, nutritious meals primarily using donated food items and stock from the kitchen pantry and freezers. Also, to assist in dishing up and serving these meals to the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with Health Department sanitation and safety standards.
Maintain a clean and sanitary dishwashing area, kitchen, dining room, storage rooms, and walk-in/reach-in refrigerators and freezers.
Remove trash and recycling, clean garbage containers, and assist with maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Sweep and mop floors, clean surfaces, and complete daily and closing cleaning assignments.
Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing kitchen supplies as directed.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies and procedures.
Support kitchen staff with general cleaning and other non-food preparation tasks as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and experience working in a commercial kitchen for a minimum of three months.
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
Knowledge of basic tools, cleaning equipment and cleaning products.
Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
Strong independent judgement.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 30 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Incumbent must have the ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Must have color vision and depth perception. This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: Wide variety of working conditions throughout the center both indoors and outdoors. In addition, portions of the primary work facility may be considered humid (natatorium) while other locations (gymnasium) may be considered moderately loud in nature.
