About Our Retail Team Join the dedicated Retail Team at The Salvation Army! Together we serve our local community and support the Adult Rehabilitation Program at the Hemet Family Thrift Store. This role promotes a positive shopping experience, enhances customer service, problem-solving and teamwork skills, and contributes to the success of our Program and its participants.

Responsibilities As a Donation Attendant, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):
Maintaining and cleaning the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift
Assisting donors in receiving donated items and providing receipts
Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by the Supervisor
Separating and sorting all donated material into proper containers and stacking material as instructed
Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary
Informing the Supervisor of needed items prior to running out (e.g., brooms, receipts, totes, carts)
Securing and locking the Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift
Qualifications High School diploma/GED or equivalent (required)
Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions
Ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, customers, and donors
Physical Demands Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist continuously or intermittently
Ability to grasp, push, pull items such as carts, rolling racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, and hand trucks
Ability to move up to 75 lbs
Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Schedule Stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by management; full‑time associates may be scheduled for any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
