Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSU) is a 29‑bed unit located at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston‑Salem, NC. The unit provides specialized care for patients with severe cardiac, vascular, and thoracic disorders, including post‑anesthesia recovery.

Schedule: Full‑time, dayshift 7:00 am - 7:00 pm.

What You’ll Do
The Registered Nurse leads the healthcare team, establishing authentic relationships with patients and families, and collaborates with physicians to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans that promote optimal health or support a peaceful death. The RN utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist patients in navigating their health journey, and has authority and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing or 4‑year degree preferred.

Graduate of an accredited nursing school; RN license required.

At least 1 year of CVICU experience or 2 years of ICU experience strongly preferred.

Current RN licensure in the appropriate state.

If your RN license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more—and you have not been licensed in another state in the last five years—successful completion of a board‑approved refresher course is required before reinstatement. Reinstatement must be applied for within one year of completing the course.
