This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, British Columbia.We are seeking an intermediate-level Process Engineer to join our team. This role is based in Vancouver and follows a hybrid work model, requiring two days per week in the office.The process engineer will lead or work with other lead engineers on the process design for projects and proposals in accordance with design standards or “understood” acceptable practices. We are seeking candidates with hands-on process engineering experience in electrochemical processes, including but not limited to chlor-alkali, sodium chlorate, and chlorine dioxide production. Experience in plant design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and providing technical support within industrial operating environments in these processes is considered a strong asset. Work is performed under guidance of the Process Engineering Manager. The process engineer may also provide guidance, supervision and mentoring of EITs or less experienced engineers on projects and proposals.Participate in the design of a process plant, including establishing process design basis, development of process options, and optimization of selected design.Direct the preparation of required documentation for assigned projects and proposals including development of PFD’s, P&ID’s and Process data sheets.Ensure successful completion of the assigned project deliverables within the budgeted time and costs.Maintain effective communication with project team members and with the customer to meet their needs.Demonstrated experience with process plant improvement, start-up, and/or troubleshooting.Technical and Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of applicable engineering experience required.Experience in design/operation at large industrial plants or through plant designs in the chlorine dioxide, chlor-alkali and/or sodium chlorate / chlorite industries.International travel will be required for project review meetings, commissioning, and technical services assignments. Travel durations requirements may be extended as needed.Computer literate and will have experience using simulation software (e.g. Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:Required:Recognized Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.Eng. registration in BC.Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.We're building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace.
