COTA - Occupational Therapy

*Overview*

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support patient recovery and independence by assisting with therapy plans across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics, utilizing your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to enhance patient care. The position requires a licensed COTA committed to delivering high-quality occupational therapy services in a professional and caring manner.

• Duties*
• Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing individualized care plans tailored to patient needs.
• Support patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), promoting independence and functional skills.
• Provide therapy interventions for patients in acute care, inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health settings.
• Help develop and modify treatment strategies based on patient progress and care plans.
• Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions and document progress accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Assist with patient education on safety, mobility, and adaptive techniques to improve quality of life.
• Support patients across a range of specialties including geriatrics, pediatrics, and occupational health.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and safety during therapy sessions.
• Skills*
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy.
• Experience assisting with ADLs in various settings such as home health, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities.
• Familiarity with care plans for diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
• Ability to work effectively in inpatient and outpatient environments while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
• Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to supporting recovery and independence.
• Knowledge of medical imaging procedures is a plus but not required.
• Prior experience in acute care or skilled nursing facilities is advantageous.
• Ability to adapt therapy techniques for different age groups and clinical conditions such as inpatient or outpatient care settings.
