Paramedic - Ambulance - Part Time

Facility in Quincy, IL seeking EM locums coverage Rates: $325/hr Opportunity Highlights

Part-Time Schedule: Looking for one provider to cover a minimum of 4-6 shifts per month. Shifts vary across day, swing, and night: 6a-4p, 8a-6p, 2p-12a, 4p-2a, and 10p-8a.

High-Volume, High-Acuity ED: The Emergency Department sees 40,000 visits per year and operates as a Certified Chest Pain Center and Certified Stroke Center (utilizing teleneurology).

Solo/Team Coverage: You will work solo during the overnight low-volume window (2a-6a) but are supported by experienced NPs throughout other shifts.

Subspecialty Support: The ED has attending physicians available in all major specialties and subspecialty fields, including ortho trauma, general trauma, neurosurgery, and CT surgery. On-site helicopter service is also available.

EMR System: The facility uses Epic for all charting.

Key Responsibilities

Provide emergency medical care to a patient mix that is approximately 65% adult and 35% pediatric.

Perform routine ED procedures, including procedural sedation and joint reductions. (Chest tubes and central lines are rare).

Manage a diverse patient panel consistent with a high-volume Chest Pain and Stroke Certified Center.

Requirements

Board Status: Board Certified (ABEM) or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine is REQUIRED.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Licensure: An active Illinois State License is REQUIRED. The facility will consider IMLC.

Certifications: Active ACLS, ATLS, BLS, DEA, and CSR licenses are required.

Start Date

The target start date is April 1, 2026.

Privileging takes an estimated 60 days.
