Join Our Dynamic Progressive Care Unit Team!
Job Description:
- Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 15
- Number of Staff: 22 (RN/PCT)
- Staff Composition:
- Day Shift: 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs, 1 Clinical Coordinator
- Night Shift: 3-4 RNs, 1 PCT
- Patient Ratios:
- 4-5 patients per RN
- Equipment:
- Cardiac Telemetry
- Chest tubes
- Cardiac drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone)
- Post-catheterization patients
- Post-surgical patients including open heart, lung, general surgery, and orthopedic patients requiring cardiac monitoring
- Electronic Medical Record:
- Meditech
- Typical Procedures:
- Post cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, device placements, groin management, chest tube management, post-operative care
- Administration of critical drips, epidurals, PCA
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years PCU experience
- Proficient in cardiac rhythms and management of surgical patients
- Experience with chest tubes and epidurals
- Personality Fit:
- Outgoing and team-oriented
- Willingness to go above and beyond for patient care
- Strong time management skills to handle high patient turnover
- Required Certifications:
- BLS & ACLS
- Floating Areas:
- ICU with PCU-type patients, PCU, Med-surg (5 patients)
- Dress Code:
- Scrub Color: Navy or white, mix or match
- Work Schedule:
- Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts
